Goose and water lilies

Beatrix park is a magical place. While I was drawing Heron ( also on my website ) in the park, a Dutch lady took interest in my drawings and we started chatting. I told her about my fascination with Vondelpark, the birds and how inspired I feel in the space. She insisted that I go to Beatrix park - a park even more beautiful than Vondelpark in her opinion. I couldn't believe it was possible to beat Vondelpark, so I went one weekend and was gobsmacked. There's such a huge variety of fairytale worthy scenery. It's like there's 10 different types of "pretty" condensed into one park. In one area you'll find trees and grass growing as they please and quaint canals running along the dirt path - more of a rustic, forest feel. Then, just around the corner there's a carefully curated garden constructed around a pond. Here you'll spot bees, birds and butterflies carrying out their daily tasks. Find a bench or a spot on the cute bridge, and just observe - they are basically giving you a free theatre performance. This particular goose was clearly looking for something - maybe a snack or building materials for the nest? 

Beatrix park felt very ethereal and otherworldly, so I felt compelled to let loose with my colour choices. You won't see a purple goose, lime green water or purple water lilies the next time you visit - but nothing stops you from dreaming it, and adding your own colours!
